Four years after the last face-to-face event, Fastener Fair Italy 2022, the international event dedicated to the fastener and fixing industry, returns to Milan. And we do not want to miss that.

On June 20-24, 2022 Weighpack & Karter will be present at the WIRE exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany. World leaders and first movers in the wire and cabling industry will be presenting their innovations in machinery, smarter production and products.

I joined Weighpack in the summer of 2020, as Commercial Manager International. My focus is mostly on North and South America, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Asia.

In normal times, customers used to travel to our plant in The Hague for the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of their new packing lines. Obviously the pandemic has made that difficult or impossible. For this reason, Weighpack started working with RealWear Augmented Reality (AR) glasses last year, and they have proved to be very useful. 

The Overall Management System (OMS) is an optional software package, which supports the operation of your Weighpack packing line. We have recently released version 15 of OMS, which includes a number of updates to the communications protocol for interfacing to external systems and MS Windows support. This version will now be offered as an option for all new lines.

We are well known for our fully-integrated packing lines. Now we are introducing a quite different product range: the Karter Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR). An AMR is similar to an Automatically Guided Vehicle (AGV) or Automatically Guided Cart (AGC), but has a much more advanced navigation and automation system. This makes it easier to integrate in your operations: there is no need for lines on the floor or reflective markers in the building, or continuous commands from the control system. Instead, the Karters have laser scanners for ‘natural feature navigation’. Once they have learned the layout of your building they can find their way around it.

I am Weighpack’s new Commercial Manager, specializing in Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). Our new Karter AMR is like an Automatically Guided Vehicle or Cart (AGV/AGC), but much smarter.

We are glad to announce that as of August 1, 2020 Weighpack International has strengthened its sales team with Martin H. Schougaard in the position as Commercial Manager – International. Martin will be commercially responsible for business development in the Americas, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Asia.

On Tuesday March 3, 2020 Minister Wouter Koolmees of the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment visited Weighpack.

Weighpack founder Andries Kout (73) has trusted his company to Simon Rijke (49). On January 1st, 2020 Simon started officially as CEO. Together with Commercial Director Edward van der Ploeg, Simon is taking our team of thirty packaging specialists into the future.
