Simon Rijke takes over from Andries Kout

Weighpack founder Andries Kout (73) has trusted his company to Simon Rijke (49). On January 1st, 2020 Simon started officially as CEO. Together with Commercial Director Edward van der Ploeg, Simon is taking our team of thirty packaging specialists into the future.

The transfer was carefully planned and prepared. Simon, experienced in the field of petrochemicals, pharmacy and the food industry, has held various management positions. ‘The knowledge, experience and the network this company has accumulated over the past 45 years is impressive. It will prove to be a solid foundation for new developments and innovation. We are ready to move ahead and explore new markets. While cherishing our existing markets and clients worldwide.’

Simon majored in Pharmacy at the Groningen University. After graduating he worked for 14 years at MSD, specializing in logistics, packaging, engineering, process optimization and change management. After MSD he worked as COO at Sonneborn Refined Products, bringing the organization up to speed and ready for a successful take-over.

Simon Rijke is taking over from Andries Kout, who founded Weighpack in 1974. Andries will remain active to round off a number of projects. Commercial Director Edward van der Ploeg will remain the first contact for existing and new clients.
